Sweet elephant from Ellen

That cute little elephant showed up last week, a gift from Ellen. The note of encouragement read, “There are other cactus in the desert.”

(I have awesome friends.)

Regina kismet work

A couple months ago I had the chance to meet Regina in person, while visiting Tucson for work. Like Ellen, I’ve followed Regina online for nearly a decade. It was a delight to see her, and her gorgeous artwork, in real life. I had to buy a couple of her Frida paintings — which were finally framed and hung this weekend with a handcut “Country Road, Take Me Home” piece from my friend Angie.

Again, sweet heavens — I have some talented women in my life.

The garden is growing

The garden is growing

With these bursts of color, and the tomatoes teeming in the garden, the Heirloom Hacienda is feeling like home.
