Boots on the Ground

May 1st

Literally. I’ve got new boots on and it is chilly in Golden! The drive was long, but manageable. I slept hard last night and I’m back to work today. Life in Colorado is beautiful.

I forgot my camera cord at a friend’s house the night before I left. So, until I unpack the duplicate, a few more photos from the scavenger hunt that Jason just emailed over: (He was on the team, behind the camera.)

Obviously, we did not have any fun at all. Not a bit. (I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a bit teary looking at these. I love these folks so much.)

How am I ever going to get all of these people to move north? Well. As the great Adele says, “Don’t under estimate the things I will do.”

Interesting how you flaunt coming in from out of state and stealing jobs from Coloradans who have been on the job market for months. You should be ashamed.
Also, you are a complete hypocrite: I thought that your life was supposed to be about simplifying and yet you constantly write about buying new things, a new camera, a new pair of shoes, etc. Next you’ll be buying the house that some hard working Coloradan wanted to buy, but couldn’t afford, because some chick from Arizona, who clearly thinks that she is better than the rest of us, took their job.

    Dear Albert,
I am from Colorado… A hardworking one too… I have three jobs to support my self and family in a tough economy. And I am very happy to have people like Kelly here in out state. So, please don’t speak for all of us. Having her work with populations of people who are typically over looked by those who actually think they are better than them is a need in all communities. Kelly… welcome to Colorado.

Can’t wait to see photos of your new home. Congrats on making the move you have been dreaming of for so long. πŸ™‚

  6. This is a day and age where I celebrate technology! From FaceTime to Skype, those sweet faces of home will never feel that far away. And, as you add new faces to your list of friends, they will help fill in the moments when you’re missing your besties. The road might be harder some days than others, but I’m confident all your hiking has prepared you to take the roads less traveled πŸ™‚
