  1. I’m definitely making shepherds pie one of these days! It looks yummy.

  2. You blog always makes me hungry. What pretty foods! I will definitely try making that shepherd’s pie.

  3. Sonoran Shepherds pie features some pickled jalapenos in the mix…

  4. Oh Kelli, you’re making me hungry. I was just thinking about turning last nights meatloaf into shepherds pie. Yum.

  5. I love Shepards pie, my mum used to make it with lamb. I remember standing at kitchen counter turning the handle on the mincer.

  6. Yum, yum and YUM! Mmmmmm, cake.

  7. We love Shepherd’s Pie at our house. Rachael Ray does a great 30 -minute version that has made us the darlings of every potluck. However you feel about her as a celebrity, the girl can bust a move in the kitchen.

  8. i froze my ass off up here today…i need some good cold weather cooking! i haven’t made shepherds pie forever!

  9. Yum Yum, what time is dinner?
I agree that the salad balances out the chocolate cake.
I’m be around after I go to the gym. That sounds wrong doesn’t it.

  10. I had my best sheperd pie in England a few years ago…….I guess it’s time to cook it again, even if my english recipe is slightly different…..

  11. Oh, what yummy food photos! Shepherd’s Pie is one of my comfort foods.

  12. Looks so very good! We are big sheperd pie eaters in this house. I will try your recipe out soon. Horseradish? Brilliant!

You take the best food pics.

  13. I must say, I don’t think I have ever had shepards pie. Looks yummy. And, where is the pic of the chocolate cake! The thought of it has me salivating! I think we who live in warm (or in your case HOT) climates really treasure these winter cooking opportunities even more. I couldn’t stand to roast a chicken or simmer soup in the summer months. Too much AC to balance out the stove. Cooking and the one or two days when I can wear a wool sweater are my favorite parts of our “winter.”

    Oh my Gosh Kelli!!

We had Shepherd’s Pie for dinner last night as well!! It was an out-of-the-blue idea, something I hadn’t made in a long time and I get on your blog today and find you had the very same idea!! Although, I must say, your recipe looks a bit different than mine and probably much better. I just do corn, peas, hamburger, and mashed potatoes over all. Next time I get the urge, I’m gonna follow your lead. You also trumped us on the cake, there was no cake for us here–sadly!!

    Happy cookin!
    Larissa

  15. this looks so yummy.
Where on the other side of the world are you based?

  16. You’ve totally got me emailing my mom now, imploring her to save me her back issues of Cooks Illustrated! Everything you make always looks so fab, and you’ve mentioned/shown several things from CI that seem simply delish!
