Horns

October 15th

When I saw this paper mache deer head at the craft store, I knew I wanted to paint it. I wasn’t sure why, but I loved it. And so, for a few bucks and a couple coats of paint…

The first Christmas decoration is up. (Because, you know. In Tempe we see lots of deers.) The simplicity of this does delight me, however.

  1. I assume you’re joking… do you not have deer in Tempe? We have TONS in Missouri. There are about 7 that live on the church property and hang out in our backyard on a regular basis!

I think your deer will need some greenery wrapped around his horns as it gets closer to Christmas. Or maybe he can borrow Nelson’s Santa hat. =)

  2. I LOVE this! Maybe a Rudolph nose for Christmas?

  3. How fun! And a nice juxtaposition from the skull/antlers that is normally associated with the southwest – very clever there. I agree that the possibilities are endless with the fun that can be had with this as the seasons progress.
