I Love JC

February 14th

If you can’t tell by the fabulous photo*, that’s me and Jimmy Carter. President Carter was in town for a book signing last night and I managed to drag along some friends to pick up my copy. He looked right at Rebecca and said hello to her pregnant belly! Interestingly enough, we realized standing outside in line beforehand that we were both in utero when he was in office. Nonetheless, we fully enjoyed our brief glimpse of the great. I wanted to talkย  peanuts and Habitat for Humanity, but according to the Secret Service, JC didn’t have the time.

*Taken with a crap Blackberry camera, hence the blur. Regardless, I owe this shot to Amanda. Thanks!

    Kelli–

You do lead the MOST interesting life…imagine getting that close to Jimmy Carter, and your meeting up with the “different” fellow on the way to hear Hilary Clinton speak, wow….Pheonix has much more goin’ on than my hometown, I’ll tell you that!!

I was a little kid when JC was president and on a trip to Florida, we stopped in Plains, GA and got some peanuts…and for a long time, my dad had a can of “Billy” Beer so named for JC’s brother Jimmy. It was a memorable side to the trip!

    Take care!

  13. Some years ago I saw an article in which his wife worked on an all women’s team, at making some houses. I think it was a Habitat project.Well, that woman was using a power saw as if it were nothing!! She got an instant admirer in me, both for helping out other people, and for being damn good at using that saw.
    Lucky you on being there!!
