Later, Gators

I’m breaking my nanoblogmo or whatever it’s called for a few days. I’m off to Washington DC to learn how to lobby Congress. And no, I’m not stopping off at the bank first to stuff my pockets. I’m attending a nutrition conference and learning about national food security, with a dash of congressional wooing in the schedule too. Plus, I get to see a bunch of friends who live on the East Coast and experience this thing you all call “Fall.” I’m pulling out my sweaters and thinking of all the photos I’m going to take at the Lincoln Memorial.

Ciao,
K

  1. Dude! You got me into this thing. You’re missing the nano nonsense? You should have enlisted guest bloggers for a few days. πŸ™‚ This reminds me of that year in college you convinced me to fast w/ you for Lent and I struggled the whole day without eating then walked in on you eating a huge plate of something. “You’re still fasting? I totally gave up around lunch today.” ha! πŸ™‚
    I’ll miss you!

  2. Have a great time. They just announced the site for the MKL, JR memorial, maybe they have it marked. He’ll be the first non-president with a memborial there, isn’t that awesome.

  3. oh no! not you, too? i thought you’d stick with it, no problems at all. enjoy dc. i did. try to get to stitches, the yarn store… there’s one in georgetown and one at capitol hill. and i’ll be all ears abotu what you learned!

  4. I hope the sun peeks out to greet you while you’re here. It’s been so rainy and overcast lately.

Enjoy your trip! (You’re only about 1 1/2 hours away from me!)

  5. No need to wait until 2007. Bring your spirit and some cupcakes to DC now and Congress won’t know what hit ’em! Hilary was supposed to change the face of American politics a few years ago yet she’s ridiculed and vilified at every turn. We are certainly blessed by the progress made by our grandmothers, but I sure hope our granddaughters have a better world than we do.

  6. Travel safe! And take extra Lincoln Memorial pictures! (I’d really love to see them, since I never got out of the ‘burbs while I was there!)

We’ll be here when you get back!
