Lilly

April 21st

Eli Lilly is huge in Indiana. Their name is everywhere you turn, including the Lilly house, as seen on the grounds of the Indy Museum of Art:

Easiest way to tell I’m still a desert girl at heart? I fall all over myself taking photos of lush, green gardens. It felt a bit like a fairy tale to take our time wandering through a handful of shaded paths. Around each bend seemed to be another piece of art, a handful of bright flowers, a tree that looked like something out of a Dr. Seuss book.

  1. I have always wanted to visit Indy for a girl’s trip with my bestie, and now I definitely am going to put it on the top of my list after seeing how beautiful it is!

  2. I miss my home state!!!!D: I have a few cousin’s that live in the Indy area. My college (Indiana University) room mate lives in the area as well. Gosh, you would love Bloomington, IN and Brown County, IN.

Both my mother and uncle (teachers) won Eli Lilly grants in the late 80’s. My mom (English teacher) to study Wordsworth in England and my uncle (Art teacher) for art. I was able to go on the trip to be the official “photographer” for my mom. It was a joyous two weeks!

  3. These photos are absolutely beautiful, Kelli. I never knew Indianapolis was so pretty! I’m all in favor of good manners, and I think I would enjoy Indy!
