These are one of my favorite flowers — ranunculus. The Persian Buttercup variety, in particular, is just so pretty. The simplicity of a handful of flowers tucked in to a pitcher looks right in my simple home.
This photo is really just to show off that gorgeous pitcher Emily sent me for Christmas. Isn’t it pretty? That girl knows how to spoil her friends.
I don’t know what the next few months look like, other than a move to Colorado. I don’t yet have a job, or a house. But I’ve got a vision of what I want — one that’s been brewing for several years and it so crystal clear, I can smell the pine air. My friend Amanda regularly tells me that I’m one of the luckiest she knows. “Things always seem to fall into place for you.”
They do. But, I’d prefer to call it grace.
The time line goes a bit like this: find a job (and know my future income), rent a house, arrange the movers, start packing, throw a huge “come help me pack/take some stuff I don’t need” party, rent the home I own in Arizona, and skedaddle to the Rockies. I’ve got several proposals and applications pending. And, most importantly, I’ve got a lot of faith that this is the right move.
With grace, faith and luck on my side — this pitcher will hold summer wildflowers picked during long hikes in the Rockies.
P.S. Thank you. Thank you for hanging around and reading about all of this and sending me encouraging notes and email. I’m going to tuck you in my pocket and take you with me too.
