Taxi tote for MOI!

So happy with my new bag

This beauty is all for me.  Another taxi tote, with near-perfect bias tape. I found this fabric at JoAnn’s a couple weeks ago and splurged on 2 yards. I had no idea what I was going to do with it, but this worked like magic.  Of course I matched my outfit to it today and am loving carrying my own bag!

Also whipped up this last one — last one for a while, promise! — for a girlfriend who requested a red/white/and black tote. I love how the red pops.

I started another sewing project last night to realize I was 1.5 yards short of fabric. Darn it! That silly math trips me up from time to time. Mrs. Theile, my high school math teacher, was right. I should have paid more attention.

Twist my arm, I guess I have to go back to the craft store…

Happy Friday!

  1. Love, Love, Love the red/white/blue version. Just in time for it to be okay to be patriotic again. Oh, did I say that out loud? Whoops.
Yeah, I’ve got a trip to the craft store in store – for all those crazy different interfacings for the wall pockets and wreath makings for Aidin’s teacher.
Enjoy your weekend! My folks are heading to the boobie garden sometime in the next few days. They are in Phoenix until the 10th, then off to Tucson and then Mexico.

  2. I LOVE the red white and blue bag, and just like you I recently purchased two yards of that same fabric with no idea what I was going to use it for. Your friend will surely love her red, white and black bag. Very cute!

  3. OMG, your red, white and blue bag is lovely! So pretty! And, your friend will love hers. These bags are really nice! I told you, you’re a purse-making-machine!

Great job! I love the fabric you chose for your tote – dark blue/light blue/red is one of my favorite color combos. You are getting to be such a pro at the bias binding, you’ll have to slay a garment.

  11. Very nice! I especially love the blue/red print. Very cute!

  12. I LOVE the red/black/white and you know my bday is in June… 🙂 Miss you!

  14. As always, love your choice of fabric. I’m finally two weeks away from having my very own craft space in our new duplex. I’m so excited. I want to get some projects done before the baby comes….

  15. You have practiced your way into perfect Taxi bags Kelli! Both prints are very cool. Like you I love the contrast of the red against the black and white. Enjoy your bag as I am sure your friends will. Happy weekend!
