Phelps Phan Phor Sure

August 9th

I’ve been sitting on the couch watching sports for the last three hours. And thanks to a very, very generous friend who works for a certain fabulous company, I may or may not be cheering for Team USA in new Olympic-themed workout clothes. That’s right — I’ve become one of those girls with words across her butt and currently my rear-end reads: USA!
I know what you are thinking.
Sports! Couch! Three hours! Sweats! And she drank beer this week? Is she morphing into Homer J.?
Well, not exactly. I spent my time in bliss watching athletic glory — I am a bit of an Olympic nut — completing this.

My friends Todd and Kathleen met in the Peace Corps in Cameroon and will be married next month.

Ah, hand-sewing. What a perfect way to get something done even when you are lounging.

And if I didn’t mention it: Go team USA! Woo hoo! Olympics!

  2. It looks great! And I love the Olympics, too. I was caught between getting all choked up during the Parade of Nations last night and at the same time trying not to fall asleep. The swimming events are my favorite.

  3. The quilt is gorgeous!!! Your Olympic viewing while sewing plan is exactly what I have planned for tomorrow. I watched some womens beach volleyball today and hope there is more on tomorrow. Seriously, they are my fitness inspiration. Wow.

I’ve spent most of the weekend watching the Olympics while I either worked from home, baked, cleaned, and filed.

Go Australia! Although even I was cheering for the US men’s relay team, when they inched out the French. What a great race.

I, too, am watching hour after hour of the Olympics. A bit of hand-sewing is going on as well as many hours of knitting. Other than cheering on the USA teams, my butt is not being at all patriotic with our country emblazoned across it; instead, it’s beginning to have imprints from the weave in my chair cushions. I’m going to get in my pool today and swim a couple of laps to get some exercise other than armchair cheering.

  26. gorgeous. they sure will love it.
    oh how exciting the olympics.
