That Fabulous Finny

Seams to me Taxi Tote

Finny sent me an email last week to say, “stop your whining about bias tape and saddle up already. Watch this video and tell me even your goofy ass can’t sew it.” Okay, she didn’t say it exactly that way, but I’ve never been as funny as she is.

Seams to me Taxi Tote

Angry Chicken’s bias tape video is only 4 minutes but took about 3 hours worth of grief out of my life. Her method of sewing bias tape makes a lot of sense. So much so, I decided to give the Taxi Tote another try — or three.

Perhaps I’m a glutton for punishment, but Finny and the Chicken typically know what they are talking about. Back soon with the verdict,

  1. That video is hilarious and so is Finny. I am so excited that you are making more bags… I think I need to get my paws on that book!

  2. What a great tutorial! I love tongue depressor faces! Mostly, I like the information. My friend’s mom used to sew bias tape on, sewing only once. Her Barbie clothes would make mouths drop on runways all over the world, but that is another story!

It never occurred to me to sew it TWICE like I do when I bind a quilt. DING! DING! DING! that was the sound of a light bulb going off in my head.

  3. Seriously, that tutorial saved my bias tape hating life. It’s a must watch for anyone attempting something as death-defying as bias tape sewing. Glad it helped!

  4. Okay, I’m not a sewer. What is bias tape sewing? Can it be explained to a non sewer? I’m very curious as I’m trying to add sewing into my life.
