Tinsle

December 9th

I’ve got Christmas fever this year and it is the worst case I’ve had since childhood. My home is decorated, I’m wearing sweaters (a sign of Christmas in Arizona), my Pandora station is set to “Classical Christmas” and my cards are long since in the mail. It is pretty ridiculous how much I love the holidays and tradition.

Super secret Christmas sewing project

That said, I can’t show what I’ve been working on because it would ruin the surprise. Let’s just say I’ve been very busy sewing and soon hope to be wrapping. Community dinner is set for Thursday and I’m dragging everyone out afterward to go caroling through the neighborhood. I haven’t done that in ages and figured it would be a fun way to publicly humilate myself, so why not invite friends along? Someone is bringing schnapps for the hot cocoa. We’ll have a little liquid courage to help with “These Three Kings.”

Nudu in process

Nudu basket

When sewing gets frustrating, I’ve been knitting away on the latest nudu cap. It is nearly complete and should go in the mail later this week. Just in time too because I’ve got two beanies and a scarf I need to knit in the next two weeks. Nothing like a deadline to keep a girl focused.

Hope your holiday prep is also going well!

Fa la la,

Kelli

  1. I need your Christmas Spirit to rub off on me a little… I have so much crafting to do! Why do I always wait till the last minute? Can’t wait to see all your finished projects.

  2. I love this time of year too! 🙂 The only downfall is it always goes by too darn fast!

  3. You. Are. Amazing. (it needed to be said. again.) Send me some of your good holiday vibes–I need a little Kelli pixie dust to rub off on me (my Christmas cards are still in a sad little un-happy-wished, unadressed, unstamped, heap of procrastination by my dining room table!–shame…shame).

  4. Kelli you not only inspire me, you tire me thinking of all you accomplish in a day, week, month……..amzing woman you are! I just got my Christams cards finished yesterday and they will go in the mail today. I always feel good when that is done! I think caroling after your community dinner is a great idea! (And so is the scnapps in the hot cocoa, hee) Have fun and I look forward to hearing about it. I’d love to see your house decorated for the holiday too. Jingle them bells! Diane

  5. Have fun at dinner (& after)!

  6. Schnapps, cocoa, friends and Christmas spirit…..I can’t think of a better combination. Enjoy!

  7. Do you ever sleep? People will see your love and appreciate the community spirit. I remember how wonderful it was to hear carolers outside my window some years ago. I ran outside and brought them cookies. It was freezing cold in Denver at the time. Maybe you will get some cookies too! Like the nudu (?)cap.

  8. Like the poster above said.. Do you ever sleep? You are such a great role model for keeping one’s self busy. I can’t wait to see what you’re making, and have a great dinner.

  9. Woo, you are a busy bee!!
Keep enjoying all that holiday crafting!

  10. Could you please bottle up some of your Christmas spirit and send it my way?
I am a big ol’ Scrooge this year!

  11. Mint chocolate bailey’s for the hot chocolate would be my choice. Christmas fever is well and truely alive in our household.

  12. I hate how this time flies as well! I love read a book by the Christmas tree. I love seeing all the ornaments from the past that make me laugh. Kelsey is begging for lessons on how to knit! Hmmm, know anyone who could teach her???

  13. I’m going to have to special order one of these someday….!

  14. Wow!!!! You are one busy gal!

  15. i totally just turned on classical christmas, and i’m loving it!!!!

    thanks for the tip.

  16. I need a little of that enthusiasm! I just put my tree up last night…my little man is excited, but I’m feeling the pressure (hence my lack of time on my blog last week!). I have about 10 more gifts to finish and am working on a custom order for a customer…ahhhh! Good for you though, can’t wait to hear how the caroling goes! I haven’t done that since highschool youth group:)
