We are getting married!

Engagement Photos

Jason asked me to marry him this weekend, and I went from a “strong maybe” to a “definite yes!” immediately. I’d been joking with him for months when he would talk about our future that, “Hey! I was still a strong maybe.” And then I’d shake my had obnoxiously, signaling the “All the single ladies!” dance moves of Beyonce.

As in: dude. Put a ring on it.

Now that he has, and with a lot of luck and patience, I hope we live happily ever after.

  1. Kelli,
Although I only know you through your blog I want to congratulate you and Jason. He is fortunate to have a woman who is comfortable in her own skin, well traveled, well read, love of family, friends, local and global community . I “found” you several years ago when I was on the hunt for the perfect zippered pouch tutorial. Your affinity for Africa is enlightening. Your wanting to experience all that life has to offer is inspirational. Your faith brings hope. I’ve followed you from one part of the country to another and watch you grow. There are times when I felt like I was there when you drank beer or other libations and ate good food with your cussing friend Finney (she reminds me of some of my friends.)
I will leave you with this:

As I see it, the true significance of marriage lies not only in the mutual love with unites the parties concerned, although it is undoubtedly one of the cornerstones, but also in the faithful support which the parties guarantee – that it will always be there in full measure at critical moments.

    Peace and Stitch,

  2. Judging by the joy on your face, I would say that this is very exciting news indeed!!! He is a lucky man — I’m so happy for you.

  3. Congratulations! I wish you all the best!

I keep you (and Finn) in my mind every time I check our tiny experimental garden – aka “the farm”. Your tales of gardening were always inspirational (and sometimes hilarious). I hope your fall garden is a success. 🙂

Such great and wonderful news! God bless you both.

  5. Darling, congratulations! I used to read your blog years ago and then fell of reading all blogs for a few years (and really, I still don’t). Out of the blue I was wondering how you are doing and I’m thrilled to see that life is good! I wish you and your future husband, all the best in the world. Please keep up the blog too. You don’t even know me, but I feel like I have just visited with an old friend by reading through your posts. Sending you so much love and happiness!
